NEW Pink by Design SNEAK

Hey everyone--sorry for the poor posting--work has been crazy and I am in the peak of the busy season--the holidays can't come soon enough.

Today is a release day for Pink by Design and we are in the middle of a hope--if you have come over from Paulamorethanfavors than welcome to my humble little blog.  Paula is so talented!!!

Well here is a Sneak of a new Pink By Design set called Craft On (just click to take you to the store)

So you can mix and match your sentiments to make a ton of different says for all sorts of cards and projects--when I opened the pink envelope the first thing I thought of was an invite for drinks for my friends.  This one was super simple.  I used a pre-made card base and black ink--really that was about it.  I placed the stamps on the card then stuck them to my block.  Stamped and done!  Easy right.
To just add a little something to set it off--I used a green pearl in place of the olive--there is nothing more than a simple card that makes an impression--

Make sure to check out all the PDB designers as there are tons of SNEAKS today and a big release tonight--make sure to check it out and head on over to pick you new limited release stamps up int eh PBD store.

Make sure to head on over to 217Creations and check out Elizabeth's great project

Back to the Grind

Today is my first day back at work and I am off to San Fran for a few days on business.
I wanted to share a tip about Sympathy cards.  It seems that I have had to make my fair share of them and what I have learned is that simple is best--what is important is that the receiver of the card knows you are thinking and praying for them.
Here is a very simple card--the base layer is a pattern paper from a 6x6 DCWV pad and I dry embossed with a SU embossing folder.  I cut around the edges and added a little ink.  The sentiment is from CTMH!

The inside is a part of two part sentiment set from CTMH

I have a couple more cards for you this week so keep coming by--I also have some give aways coming the first of December to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas!

Thanksgiving Card

Well this week has been crazy with customer appointments, the election, and a Board of Directors meeting at work--seems every minute is just jammed packed.
I need a little creative break so I made a simple Thanksgiving card.

Card base is a simple A2 card from Kraft paper.  I cut all the layers all at once and then trimmed them down--still all stacked removing the bottom layer each time--this way you get perfect fitting layers each time.  I used my all time top pick ribbon from Joann's that I buy multiple spools of each time because I use it so much.  I tied a simple knot nothing fancy.
The stamp is from CTMH and in the current idea book-I stamped the base of the pumpkin then used versamark ink and brown embossing powder to second step the pumpkin.  I also used the same brown to emboss the 'Thanksgivin'.  I used a moss green powder to accent the leaves and vine .
This would make a perfect thank you card for someone who has invited you to the big turkey dinner!

Decorated Treat Box

So I have gotten on a kick of giving yummy treat for celebrations.  Recently I missed a birthday of a friend (who also happens to be the guy who helps run the wine shop I frequent-not a bad friend to have if you like wine) of mine because I was in NYC on business.
So to celebrate and let him know I did not forget and that I was sorry for missing the party--I bought bite size cupcakes from my fav place in NYC and brought them home--well you know I could not just give them in the box they came in!
So I took a white baked goods box from Joann's and worked some paper magic-

I measure the box and cut everything 1/8" short so that it would fit perfectly on the box, inked the edges, used some red line and started the over haul.

To create the 'window' I layered up my two pcs of paper and paced my spellbinders die and sent it through my cuttlebug--this took all of 5 minutes and the box was as big a hit as the bit sized cupcakes!

We are off on another week (this year had  flown by) so make it count!
Make it a great one and we will see you back here soon!

Halloween Treat Bag Topper Day Two

Here is the second of four treat bag toppers--these were so easy to make and pretty fast

So this spider is heat embossed and hand cut--if you don't attach the legs down it feels like it has movement!  The top note is from the CTMH Artiste Cartridge!  So many great shapes so little time
Here is a close up!
Hope you have a great Wednesday and see you back here on Thursday--make it a great one!

Halloween Treat Bags Day 1

Hello Everyone--hope y'all are doing well.  This week I have a few treat bag toppers to share with you.
Here is today's topper
So I found these really well done sugar cookies and thought these would be perfect treats for some of the folks I work with--and who doesn't love a good sugar pick me up!
The eyeball paper is from a Martha Stewart Stack from last year and the Creepy cut is from the Cricut Frightful Affair cartridge and I used both the shadow and the top cut.  I got the 'mummy' wrapped glitter effect using my xyron and some fine purple glitter.  I love how it looks a bit like a ripped wrapped mummy!  I used ziplock bags to keep the cookies fresh and the topper is 6" long and 3" wide finished top to fold.  I used foam squares to pop the cut right off the bag topper!

So I have three more to share this week--and a couple of projects leading up to Halloween.  Once we hit Oct 31 I will flip to Thanksgiving and Christmas--got to get started on all those projects--and trust me this year I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew!

Make it a great one-

Oh Christmas Tree!!!!

It's Friday!!!!! And boy has it been a long week.  I did make my first holiday card and I rather like it!!!!
The paper is all Close To My Heart, and this Christmas collection and the ribbon is the color ready seam binding also from CTMH.
The tree is a die from Papertrey Ink which I love and cut it twice and pop dotted the layers!
On the inside I used a PTI stamp-one of the $5 sets of holiday sentiments, some CTMH embossing powder, and my handy dandy heat gun to finish it off.
Hope you all have a great weekend and I have more to share with you next week!!!!!
Make it a great one

Spooktacular Wine Tag

Well we have made it to Wednesday and the week is half over.  Halloween is one of my least fav holidays but there seems to be as many parties for it as there are during the holidays.  My go to host/hostess gift is a great bottle of wine.  I made this tag and think it may become my go to for all parties--it's fast, easy, and you can use all the small bits of paper you have in that scrap bucket.

The tag is 7" long and 2.5" wide--simple right.  I scored the fold at 2 inches from the top edge and folded over.  For the circle I used a 1 1/4" circle punch and I round the edges of the corners (top edge) with my corner chomper.  I cut strips of Halloween themed paper at 1" by 2.5" and place them on the tag.
I used a chipboard sticker I got at Wal-Mart at least a year ago and added some google eyes in the O's.
Super simple and it took all of 10 minutes to make.

Ok I will have another post for you on Friday--that's right three this week--go big or go home--LOL

Fun Birthday Card

Hello Everyone--It's been way to long!
I have had next to no time to craft lately--even when I plan it out it does not happen.  I have really missed getting ink fingers, ATG sticky balls in my hair, and making cut on the wrong side of the paper.  When you don't get to craft much even the mistakes are fun.
Well I was able to pull out my Artiste Cartridge, the chipboard and stamps that came with it, and happened to whip up on of may all time fav cards (or so I think right now)
I love using papers all from the same collection--it just makes it easy.
Here I cut the cupcake at 4".  It's three layers-base, the paper cup and the icing topping.
I sent the paper cup through the crimper (a much under used tool that takes up a lot of space in a drawer) before I inked the edges.  The icing was already a glitter paper (all from DCWV) so only had to ink the edges there, as I did with all the pcs.
So for my sentiment--I used the banner chipboard that came with the cartridge.  I used a dark blue ink with one of the matching stamps that also came with the cartridge.  I love this chipboard so much I am going to have to order bunches!
I have a couple of things complete to share this week--but next week I am off to Europe so there will for sure be a few Where in the World posts coming--London, Paris, and Dusseldorf!  I was recently promoted at work so my time is jammed full with projects and transitions--so I am so thankful  you all stick with me even when it seems I have fallen off the earth!

In my thoughts.....

Hope your week is off to a great start.  I am in for another busy week--since the promotion it has been non-stop crazy!  LOL.

Well today I found out that an employee of mine had an unexpected death in his family.  I find Sympathy cards some of the hardest and a masculine one can be double tough.

I used the new Avonlea paper and Words of Comfort stamp set (C1524) from Close to My Heart.
I used a vintage large buttons and used dark brown twine to make it look like I attached it to the card.

I inked the edges with chocolate ink.  I also added some texture with my cuttlebug and a 5x7 folder to the card base itself--I don't usually do this to the base but thought it was a nice touch and tied to the pattern paper well.

Avonlea notecard

Well it's hump day and I have another Avonlea card for you.  This time is a simple note card that can be used for many different occasions. I never seem to have enough of these kind of cards in the stash--
The card base came in the Avonlea Card Workshop on the go, the papers were also in the kit.  The purple border was cut using the new Artiste Cricut Cartridge from Close To My Heart.  I added some border stitching with waxy flax and placed some of the smokey gems in the center of each circle--the stitching took more time than anything else.
Super simple right.

I just got a great big happy mail package today--so watch for a video on Thursday of my haul--it's been a while since I did one of those!

A simple Avonlea card

Hi everyone--I am back home after a fun filled weekend in Canton OH for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement--I am so luck to get to go every year.  Part of my real job is making the gold jackets for the enshrines each year.  This years class was so nice and they all looked like a million bucks! I will share some photos on Friday.
Today I have another card for you using the new Avonlea paper collection from Close to My Heart!
So here I used one of the stamps to create the background on the card--I impressed myself on how much it looks like printed paper!.  I used a strip of the purple in the kit and a strip of pattern paper to create the 'ribbon' down the card.  The flourish cut is from the new Cricut Artiste Cartridge from CTMH--a must have for any cricut lover.  I simply stamped the sentiment and added two of the new blings that come in the card kit I posted last week.

I will have another card for you on Wednesday--make sure to check out the idea book on line and let me know what you think.

If you have been thinking about the Artiste cartridge but you are worried about the budget I have a plan to share with you on Friday that is going to get you that cartridge--and keep you in your budget.
