Where in the world day 1.............Hong Kong

I started my trip in Hong Kong--one of the best cities in Asia to visit. It is very westernized and easy for first-timers to enjoy! The weather was a but overcast but I still had to take my walk along Hong Kong Harbor.



Todays blog candy is a key ring and door hanger! The Key ring is made of rose colored agate and the satin knot is donw by hand. The door hanger is made of jade and had been carved. The carving is meant to bring luck and peace to the house hold--I have these on all the doors in my place. I love the way they look and a few good vibes never hurt either--

    Wow, Love the jade. I grew up in Japan (as an American daughter of a civil servent) and know that jade brings good luck! Who couldn't use some?

    Wow! Your video brought back memories of our trip to HK a few years ago. I loved the little Star Ferries going back and forth endlessly across the harbor. I'm sure the jade will bring good fortune to whoever receives it. BethAnn M.

    Hi Bryan! I'm more of a stay at home gal, except for camping during the summer. I am a Minnesota woman after all, but so loved your video from Hong Kong.     Well, after all my posting about your travels on my blog, I was so tired (I wear a patch that when I change it, I end up with insomnia that night!) I forgot to check your blog for the 1st day of travel!! Bryan..I'm a dork, this will become more apparent as time goes by..LOL Off to see your video of Hong Kong. I wish I would have had the chance to visit there prior to it returning to China. In the 90s I worked with many people from Hong Kong, who had settled in Vancouver BC, and came down to Seattle to work for the cruise co that I did. One gal was such a sweetie, and I remember her sadness about the change. It appears that not much has changed?

    Very jealous right now, but some day I'll make it there. Love the blog candy. Jade is so beautiful and I understand they also put jade jewellry of some sort on babies when they are born to bring them good fortune in their lives. I believe Rose agate brings love into your life.
