Super Duper Deals @ Target

Yes shoppers you read correctly! Super deals at Target--guess their ever popular Dollar Spot has found a close cousin in the Scrapbook Section--All the the really cool papers, blinged chip board titles, and covered chip board letters cost me a total of (insert drum roll).........12.88 cents!!!! that makes them 99cents each--What a deal!

The fancy papers come 2 pcs in a pack. I found three colors of the all over glitter (white, black, and aqua blue) and in the prismatic paper I found a really cool wave pattern in aqua that will be great for water in a layout or card and a hot pink that is more of a optic circle pattern. The patterned paper pack has 8 pcs of patterned paper each with a different pattern--and they are cute to boot!

Now on to the accents. The bling chip board titles are great--words like WISH, LOVE, KISS, and CUTE. Not only do they have bling stones but the main layer is all over glitter so you get tons of sparkle--and we all know bling never hurt a scrapbook page! I also got two sets of chipboard letters that are pre covered and go back to some of the 8 paper pattern packs. 26 letters is all you get but for 99cents you can buy to packs and not feel an ounce of guilt!

All the items in the 99cent assortment are from colorbok. I say next time your in Target take a spin through scrap booking and pick up a few new bits to add to the never ending and ever growing scrap stash!

A Gift for a Friend

Well the holidays are upon us and the gift deadline is quickly approaching!! I have a dear friend in Kansas City who I have known since the first day of college who had a beautiful baby girl last year right before the holidays--My friend Maria, has this wonderful way of mixing the old world and modern that is truly unique--so I thought how can I come up with a meaningful gift that is for them both and reflect Maria and the baby--here is what I came up with!

Last Saturday I finished this up and then on Monday one of my fav blogs

http://cricutchristmas.blogspot.com/ had a similar project with photos (great minds think alike)

Over all it was pretty simple once I picked the papers (which for some reason took forever!) I used A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge for the cut outs as well as the big A (for the baby's name), the script cuddlebug folder for the embossing on the letter, my atg gun and pop dots for some extra interest. The papers are all from Michael's sold by the sheet except the metallic white which is from Big Lots (yes Big Lots). The finished project took about an hour to complete and the ladies in the office all love it--here's to hoping Maria likes it when the FedEx man delivers it next week!
