Bright Birthday Card!!!

Well we have made it half way through another week!  Only two days left to finish my project for my Saturday over at Everyday Cricut!
Today's card is a bright and colorful Birthday Card.
This card is 6x6 square--usually I would make it a bit smaller but a lot of people need to sign this one so the size was a plus.  I cut a triple mat starting at 5 1/2" square and working down by 1/4" from there.
The center band is also triple layered.  1 1/4" wide by 6" long for the base and decreasing by 1/4" in width for each layer.  I added some metal accents instead of gems for bling.
Fore the center sentiment I used a Stampin' Up Stamp (also from my garage sale haul).  I stamped on daisy white CTMH card stock with Versa Mark ink and used stampin foil in purple to add a bit of shine and make the sentiment pop off the page. (you can see it shine in the first picture)
I trimmed up the center and than layered twice with using pop dots between the two sets of mats.  I also added a 2"strip of the black pattern paper to the inside of the card--Why should the party stop when you open it up?

Thanks for stopping in today--on Friday I have a card I made for my intern for his last day!a
Make it a great one

Monochromatic Monday...sympathy card

Good Monday Morning to everyone--hope you had a great weekend.  I had a pretty lazy weekend but got some great crafting done.
Today I want to share a very simple sympathy card.  It may be simple but I think it turned out to be one of the most elegant cards I have made to date!
I used a monochromatic color scheme in cream.  I used colonial white card stock from CTMH and a damask pattern from the DCWV At Home stack.  I inked the edges with Chamomile ink from Paper Trey ink (this and the Chi are must haves) and Yellow Cadmium from Color Box.  The two colors give a really nice vintage tea stained look.
I used the Manhattan Flower texture folder from Stamin Up/Sizzix, cut out the main flower and inked with the same two colors.

I have a lot of sentiment stamps but most of them are small, I found this one from A Stamp In The Hand in my garage sale haul box--the font was perfect for this card.  I stamped in a slightly darker color (desert sand from CTMH) so that it would be readable and blend in to the over all feel of the card.

I also finished the inside with a couple bits of the scrap pattern paper from the front of the card.
Thanks for stopping by today.  I am madly working on a project to share on Everyday Cricut on Saturday--but i do have a few more projects to share this week.
Make it a great one
