Fathers Day Must Makes

Well a couple years ago I made this frame for Father's Day.
I bought the raw frame at Michael's and used Modge Podge to adhere the paper as well as top coat the finished product.
I also took some chalk ink to the edges and went a little heavy to give it that MANLY feel--LOL
I really like the little bit of twine I added and the metal accents to the plate.  The is from one of the Cricut Cake cartridges.

Leave those comments for your chance to win one of the 5 D sized stamp sets from CTMH this week--

Picnic Layout

Well better late than never is my personal theme these days!  Sorry to all my morning folks how like to read but was delayed in getting the post ready for today--make sure you leave comments on Tuesday and Wednesday if you have not already (this if for those that missed the distro on Tuesday)

OK I did another layout for a picnic--super easy and very fun
A little stamping, a little dry embossing, a little heat embossing, and using some "ribbon" that is a little unexpected!
So here you can see some of the pattern papers I used--I love a good printed kraft and this gingham check was a must have--if not for a picnic layout you can use it in February as well as in December--I bought multiple sheets! (LOL)
So a close up of my letters--used the street signs cricut cartridge (love a good simple font) and on the shadow I used a PbD Paisley background and heat embossed red on white paper.  I stamped and heat embossed after I cut them out but you could do it before because the background are tile able--meaning you can rotate them and they match top to bottom side to side so you can cover any size pc of paper! Cool right! For the top layer I used good old trusty Swiss Dot embossing folder! Love the look.
You can also see the burlap ribbon I used--I love the country look it give--it would be great for a harvest layout, pumpkin patch layout, or just jazzed up with red, green, and kraft with a vintage Santa stamp at the holidays!

The journal is stamped with a CTMH stamp and then punched along the top with the notebook edge from fiskers.  I inked the edges to blend it a bit better to the paper. Another printed kraft that could also be good for the 4th of July!!
The photo mat is double layer for a 4*6 photo and I cuttlebugged the navy layer to give it a tonal gingham look to tie it to the pattern kraft along the bottom.

That is Tuesday's post--make sure to leave the comments as a d sized CTMH stamp set will be awarded each day this week!

A layout for MOM!

Hello everyone--it's been a hot minute since I was able to share.  My job has kept me going to and frow here and there and just about everywhere.  Logged 25K miles in the are this past month!
Well today I have a layout built for MOM!  In honor of Mother's Day I did this since I was not able to be with my mom this weekend--before you judge (LOL) I was with her last weekend and she is coming to Dallas at the end of the month for the Great American Scrapbook Convention so we will get to spend time twice in one month!
Ok on to the layout:
This single page 12x12 layout was a lot of fun to make. I used kraft paper as the base and lots of fun bright colors .

I used my Cricut to cut out the letters to spell mom--sent them upside down through the xyron and added prism glitter for a little bling. I think technique and heat embossing are my two fav things to do.

My photo mat is off centered so you can see the fun ditsy floral pattern.  I also cuttlebugged the solid pink to just add texture.

I used a few different double sided pattern papers and solid colors and just layered them up at the top and bottom of the page to frame it out.  I used a few border punches to add a bit of BAMM here and there.

Here is the bottom of the layout.  I added some chambray pleated ribbon from Maya Road--I love this stuff.  Here is a better pic of the ribbon.

I also bought it in red and would love to find it in yellow!

OK--since I have been gone for so long I want to say thanks to all my loyal followers.  Everyday this week I will be giving away a Close to My Heart D size stamp set.  all winners will be announced on Saturday.  Every day will have its own winner and you have till Friday at Midnight to enter by commenting on every days post!  Pretty easy right!
I am so glad to be home for a bit and back with you all--
Make it a great one-
