Trend watcher

Well since I am on a plane headed back to Dallas I am unable to take a picture of a card that I made this past weekend--but I do have in flight gogo Internet so I can still share with you all.

As with anything paper crafting has trends--in color, pattern, materials, and embellishments.

There is one trend I keep holding onto and refuse to let go--that would be heavy edge inking.

Some of the trends that I really am into right now are
1. washi tape--can't get enough of it but can't seem to really use it on lots of projects.
2. all of the new My Minds Eye paper collections
3. wood accents
4. seam binding ribbon in every color possible
5. adhesive springs from Close to My Heart!

what are some of the trends that you can't get enough of?

  1. Hey Bryan, Hope your having a comfortable flight :) I have not got any of the things you are enjoying at the moment. I actually don't follow the trends as i don't have a lot of money so donĂ½ buy craft supplies very often!! I have just started using my Twinkling h20's again which I haven't used for ages. Look forward to seeing your ceation from the weekend! HUgsxx

  2. I've noticed the washi trend, too, but only have a little and like you, haven't figured out how to use it but so much. I don't have any seam binding ribbon YET but I love the look! And I feel like I've been seeing birds everywhere lately, too!

  6. I'm loving the whole tape trend as well as wooden accents too. And mists, loving all the misting/spritz/splatter that I see.

  7. I also cannot give up the ink edging, I edge mostly everything I add to a layout or card.
Stickles, I also use it most of the time.
I can't get enough of my embossing folder!!

  8. i also like to ink edges (not necessarily heavily). I also have to have some bling on just about everything. I'd like to check out the tape but not quite sure what to do with it. I pinned a technique for making your own for when I'm ready to play, Have a safe flight!

  9. Yes, those washi tapes are intriguing, although I haven't purchased any. I've watched you-tube demos of how to make your own--I may try that. I do love the Art Philosophy cartridge--the possibilities are endless. I'm using a couple of cuts for a card when it's my turn to present a project in a card club.
Thanks for making the D-stamp sets available as a prize--hope I win.

  11. I guess the thing I'm most into right now is heat embossing. Whatever technique I use on my cards, any stamping is embossed. I just love the effect!

  13. I am loving the new focus on chevrons. Such a basic design that can be altered to work in almost any layout or card. I haven't tried the Washi tape yet but with all the enthusiasm I am seeing, I need to get some soon!

  14. I'm still like the banners... I haven't used the washi tape and am really not sure what to do with. I just found out you can make your own?

  16. I love using the springs on my cards. I like the look of washi tape, but haven't tried using it yet. I don't think it's a trend, but dry embossing is my favorite go to thing to do. I see a lot of projects with bakers twine. I just bought some but haven't used it yet.

  17. I don't have any single particular trend but love glitter on projects. I haven't bought any washi tape yet, but probably will. I love making flowers out of paper, any kind of flowers.

  19. trending with me right now: making paper flowers from the Cricut and hand rolled ones - covering flower balls for a wedding shower decoration.

love all the lines of Graphic 45 - but like you, don't always have projects to use them on.. or in some cases - I don't want to use them up.

  20. I love twine and seem to give it a happy home on most everything that I do (it doesn't hurt that I have 14 different colors and even the small sample size doesn't ever seem to run out!) I am in love with washi tape, but don't have a lot and haven't used it yet. I also love the look of MME collections, wood shapes and seam binding ribbon although I've not used much of these! I hope your trip goes well!

    Forget about Sly and Caron.

Unless they happen to be MARC- MARTIN- NATALIE- YAN- MATT- because these ones took it to STARST and RRAPOP and ONOLAND now playing to their

  31. I really like tearing paper. I keep telling myself I will do a page without torn paper, lol. But I keep going back to doing it.

  32. I did some heat embossing using gold on scratch-off paper (the kind with a black coating over rainbow colors). Then scratched off within the design. Finished with a coat of clear embossing to keep the rest of the black from coming off. Absolutely lovely and I can't get enough of it!
