I'm Back with BLOG CANDY

Oh my--the stories I could tell about a crazy week in NYC.  I hate not posting but sometimes life simply comes before crafting--and right now fitting any time in for fun is next to impossible.
Not only do I travel all the time for work--I am also planning a move to a new place.  What is exciting about this is I will have a gruest room and a craft room--not one in the same but diffirent!!! I can not wait and neither can my guests as I am not the cleanest crafter--
So today I have a confession and am seeking advise from other crafters (horders--LOL)
As I pack, sort, donate, and feel overwhelmed--I am trying to figure out how I want to organize in the new place--so here are some pics of my current space at it's worts

I can't believe I am posting these for the world to see!!!!  Ok so I need advise on some organizational tips that you use in your craft room---And one lucky suggestion will win a cricut cartridge!  That's right BLOG CANDY!!!!!! (winner will be announced on Friday July 1st

Get ready, set, start suggesting....................

  1. I have a relatively small space and find the cubes at Michaels very helpful for organizing my craft supplies. Also I use a TV cabinet that has doors on it and drawers to hide big stuff. I don't have a closet so the TV cabinet helps. Have fun. There are so many great storage products out. I like the cubes at Micheals because of the 40%off and the variety.

  2. Whohoo a new place! That is exciting and a dedicated craft room too is over the top. Happy for you and you have been missed. I use a large (office size) filing cabinet for all my 8.5X11 card stock. It leaves two drawers for other supples that can hang in the hanging file folders. This is stored in a walk in closet. I also have a cart that holds 1/2 of my 12X12 paper. For my other half I use the clear stacking trays (used in some LSS). I have an island that is made of 3 kitchen cabinets for my work space and storage and 2 book shelves. I have a hanging shelf from Ikea that I store my stamp sets (unmounted)on and need another one! Can't wait to see waht you come up with.

  3. Shelves, shelves, shelves! The cubes from Michaels work well as do the Expedit shelving systems from Ikea. I have a very inexpensive Ikea spice rack that holds a lot of my jars of embellishments. Anything to get the stuff up on the wall and off of your work surface!

  4. You are brave to post those pix, but you could probably find identical-looking rooms in most of our homes! My solution is to fill up the walls: use floor to ceiling shelving units that hold the 12x12 clear boxes (from Iris or others). Also, put every furniture item in the room on rollers; that way, you can keep it in one place, but move it somewhere else to work. My BFF is my label-maker which allows me to know what I have, and where I have it! Good luck, can't wait to see the "after" photos. Ann

  5. My 12x12 paper is stored in a thing specifically for paper(got it at Hobby Lobby). Stamps are stored in sterilite rolling cart and three ring binders and homemade carousel. I store my cricut cartridges in a big basket. Everything else is on drawers and on bookshelves. Congrats on the move. Good Luck.

  6. Congrats on the move and how exciting to have a new craft room to decorate! I have one whole wall of the Sterilite wide 3-drawer organizers stacked together. It's four stacks of five sets of the drawers. They are sturdy and hold everything from my 12 x 12 paper pads to my individual pieces of paper, paper scraps, cardboard... It has really helped me get organized to know where to look when I want a certain paper. I printed out labels for the drawers just in case I can't remember where I put something. I also purchased c-line clear 5x7 photo sheets to hold all of my embossing folders. I have them in a binder and can flip through and find them easily. And of course, I have lots of shelves! Good luck with the move :)

  7. Right now my craft space is a mess too. I plan on cleaning it today. For my organization, I recently changed how I store my scraps that I use when I dont need a full sheet of paper. I have one of those plastic rolling drawer sets and I catagorized it by color and store the scraps in the drawers. When I need a smaller piece of paper, I can go there to find one and save my full sheets for background papers! Another system I use is to put my clear stamps in CD cases and then they go on a rotating unit. I number each case and stamp the images on sheets of paper and number those papers to correspond to the case number. Those sheets are stored in a binder so that I can browse through it and know exactly where each stamp is.

  8. I have "The Workbox" by The Original Scrapbox, which is a huge storage cupboard with bins for organizing all my supplies. I LOVE IT! It has a place for most of my stuff and helps to keep my scrap room neat and clean. I still have some things on shelves, but The Workbox gives me little spaces and bins to organize most of my stuff. And it closes completely, so all your stuff is behind closed doors. I've found that it also helps me in finding the things I want to use because there is a designated spot for everything. The other thing I've done that has really helped me is to have a large basket where I put things as I finish using them ~ then my goal is to put those "basket" things away at the end of a crafting session so things don't pile up around the room. I try hard to always do this, and it has helped tremendously in eliminating all the supplies just sitting around.
Good luck with your move and getting everything organized!

  9. Congrats on your move!!I wish I was lucky enough to have a whole room for my crafting. I have what was once a small enclosed porch which I share with my husband( I keep trying to kick him out...no luck so far)I do have to confess Bryan, I to am a messy crafter. I have a work bench my husband put together for me with bottom kitchen cabinets with a formica top, that is great lots of work space and storage I love it!! I also have (half) of a tall book stand. My husband made me a hanging shelf unit with a place for ribbon on the bottom( he copied it from Joanns ) And he is going to put up some peg board so I can hang some stuff up. I am lucky he is handy( now if I could just get him to move his stuff to the basement ;)Oh and I saved the best tip for last!! Send all your over flow to me !!!!!

  10. Congratulations! I'm not good at organizing my own things, but here is something that I do and it works well for me. I have several of the 12 x 12 iris containers (which are on sale at Michael's for $5, today is the last day). I have one that has sticker alphabets in it. I have several others sorted into themes: one baby boy, one baby girl, one outdoors and one for me and hubby. Those are themes that I do a lot of so it helps that I can just grab the box and some general embellishments and be good to go. Good luck with your move!

  11. My suggestion may be simple, but it works. Put like things together. Pretty simple, huh???? But often people try to keep things together on how they feel about it, or how it came into the craft room (first, last, etc.)

  12. without reading the other posts.. (so hope i am repeating) My first thing I would do... is get the tall shelves (like they sell in walmart) and start here.. Buy several or how many will fit. WHEN I had my craft room (now I don't) but still use the shelves. I put paper first on them and then organize after that on the shelves. hope this helps and makes sense...

  13. I've found that bookshelves and clear storage boxes are my best friends for organization. I label all by storage boxes. I have floor to ceiling shelves in my closet to hold the big items and things I don't use very often. I've also found that if I put tools back where they belong as soon as I'm finished with them I can stay much more organized - sounds simple enough, but not always easy too do when you're being creative. Good luck friend.

  14. I have a shelving unit 6 feet wide nearly to the ceiling. I 12 x 12 paper in it vertically in the Cropper Hopper paper holders. I also have 4 bachelor chests with hutch tops that hold books, magazines, 8.5 x11 paper in magazine holders, boxes of embellishments, etc.
I divide small embelles by color. Like things by theme, e.g. all Christmas together (paper and embellies), same for Halloween, baby boy, baby girl, etc. The bachelor chest drawers hold adhesive refills, all my Cricut carts and miscellaneous stuff. I took SU stamp sets apart and put them in sets of all alike stamps, e.g. birthday. CTMH stamps are in 2 long baskets from Michaels sorted by number. MARK everything. Buy a label maker and use it. You will be glad you did. I also use the Art Bin containers with handles. I have about 15 of them and use them for storage of big items and to carry stuff to classes and crops. Good luck with your room.

  15. OH MY!! Sorry, I just had to show your room to my Husband and all he could say was that's why you should always have doors on scraprooms. I think you need some of those white storage units. They are on sale this week at Michaels, and GOOD LUCK!!!

  16. In order to get organized, I think you just need to send me all that paper you have. I will give all the paper a very good home. Really! Then you can start over with a clean slate.
I can't help you with organizing. My room often looks about the same as yours. Most of the time I spend more time sorting and cleaning then I ever do crafting. : (

  17. Congrats on getting a new place! I have to say that I don't have a scrap room but a Craft corner in my LIVING ROOM, so I have to be creative with storing my goodies. One thing that I do is store my scraps in a file box, and I am very selective about which ones I keep. Another tip is cd cases for stamps. I use plastic bins for projects I am working on and that keeps them contained. I also use them for extra cuts that I have made so they are easy to find. For my Cartridges I use the scrap and tote, I love it! I hope that all this helps in some way!
Thanks for the chance to win! Check out my blog if you would like, I have a post on scraps today!

  18. I would hit youtube. There is a tons of video of revamped craft rooms. Id start there that way you can see what you like and what would work. We all have different scraping needs and budgets. You have to find out what you like and you have to know what you need before you start buying.
    Enjoy your new room

  19. One of the most space-eating items for me it the paper. Utilize the closet in your new place to organize your plain paper, stamps, inks, and cartridges. I have a small 5 tiered silver metal shelf (from Target) on which I have my most used papers in the room. They're in crates on the shelves and separated by design. I also have a sewing machine in the room on an old desk. I haven't finished, but I want to put adjustable shelves on the wall (not the floor) to accommodate my other stuff. I also have 14 Jet Max cubes for in-room storage. I've put a melamine top across 2 separate stacks of cubes to form a desk top. Enjoy your new space!

  20. I love my Billy Bookcases from Ikea. I did reinforce the shelves with proper brackets but they hold a ton of stuff and you can put them at the height you need.
I combine those with the cubes from Micheals in a variety of types; 3 drawer, divided and 4 drawer.
I think the key to any of it.. is to put stuff away when you can!
    Enjoy your new space!

  21. Congrats on the new place! I love my expedit shelves from IKEA! You can put pull out drawers in as many of the slots as you want. I have paper collections standing up in some of them without the bins and it works well also. Thanks for the chance to win!

  22. I too am about to move! Im getting married in August, and my craft room looks the same. It will be the last room for me to pack up since I use it all the time. :D

Here's how I organize some of my workspace:

  23. Hi Bryan, congrats on your move. First you're going to need to get yourself some shelves shelves shelves. Putting things up and away is one way to keep your craft room clean and neat...and off the floor(which is very important for me!). I also got myself one of those chrome shelves at Walmart for everything heavy.I am a paper-holic and have to have all the 12x12's pads along with the 5x6, 8x8....well, you get the picture! Nothing worse than filling up a shelve or cabinet and have it collapse on you! Then since you have a Gypsy, put all of the cartridges in their boxes and store in one of those plastic containers for under-the-bed. This way you have them close by but out of the way. I then keep all of the booklets in a protect-n-store container that I bought at Joann's. When I need ideas, I always have them close by. I also bought some cabinets and drawers from Home Depot for the rest of my "goodies". Then one day I happen to pass a CVS that was going out of business and bought a display shelving for Candle-lite. It's really sturdy and sits behind me in the craft room with all of my every day items. Then I purchased a 4 foot table from Costco as my work table. My Imagine and Expression are on it at my fingertips at all times! Good luck and have fun. Remember, always put your things away after every use and your craft room will always be inviting and fun to work in! Ciao db:)

  24. I can't say that I have a system-but I came to the conclusion that I waited years "to become a grown up-so I could do what I want", so I turned my dining room into a "studio" and with some cubes from Michaels have had to make do. In a dream world, I would have lots of shelves and organization, but I find the more I clean, the less I know where anything is...maybe it's just me, but it totally puts a cramp in my creativity. Nonehteless-congrats on the move! I could certainly come visit and help you clean up, but you'll have to pay me in paper!!

  25. I have tons of suggestions, all of which I can't afford to implement myself as I have been laid off since last August and don't have anything in my crafting budget right now. I agree with those who say lots of shelving is the way to go (I like the heavy chrome-plated wire ones with casters because they're so sturdy and you can roll them around if you need to) but there are other things you can do too if money isn't an obstacle. I don't know about you but I have lots of magazines that I refer to for inspiration whether I'm making cards or layouts. Magazine binders are wonderful to store your magazines and keep them in order. Along that same line, I like the Scrap n' Tote system (or something similar, for storing cartridges, keypad overlays and booklets. They're not cheap so if the cost is prohibitive, I would opt for square baskets that can go on those shelves to store the cartridge boxes with a tag or label on each one showing what carts are in which basket. From your pictures, it looks like you already have paper storage worked out. I keep my scrap papers, embellishments and ribbons in clear plastic shoe boxes and 12x12 plastic boxes, labelled of course. If it makes you feel better, my crafting space is every bit as cluttered as yours. As soon as I find a new job that will pay a little more than just bills, I'll get to work on my own craftroom plan. Until then, I do my crafting at the dining table or my computer desk, neither of which is ideal for stimulating the creative mind. Congrats on the move and good luck with the reorg project! Thanks for reading my thoughts and for the chance to win a new cart!

  27. I converted a spare bedroom into my space. The closet has two of those put together 6' high book shelves. Around the room are plastic drawers, cabinets, etc. I have a large secretary desk on one wall. Shelves and drawers are so necessary. Gook luck!

  29. I love that I bought a sewing table at Joannes. It has one side that can be left down or out upfor more space. Theres a small drawer that works well for all the adhesives and theres a little shelf under the unit. It also has a grid template on the top of the table, so if I need to know how big 3 inches is I dont have to search for a ruler. Then I bought another unit that has 3 drawers and small shelfed cubbies in it for 12x12 paper and anotherdrawer. theres a side pop up thats great to store your cuttlebug and I use the top of the unit for CB acessories. then I have stacked cubes set up around the room to contain simular projects to gether. In some of the cubes I store photo boxes od small simular items together andlable each. They can all be the same or for a uniform look or all different for splashes of color. All my small stamps are put into decorative baskets and my large wooden BG stamps are in a home made custom shadow box and are decorative. All clear stamps I keep in a drawer, and separate the sentiment stamp and the image stamps. All ribbon is stored in a ribbon organizer. I have a second table set up for another crafeter to use. My E2 is on my craft table. The Imagine and another Expression are on a rolling tabl e (cart) in a corner near the desk and computer.all furniture and cubes are set up in a sytem of what I use alot near the craft table and the less used are on another wall. If I had a closet I would have it customized for crafting supplies. I dont have a closet so Everythin is set up in an order so I can get to it.All was bought in white at Michaels or Joanns with coupons. Im disabled so a computer chair (wheels) works for me. Have fun setting you new room up...

  30. Oh gosh, I could go on and on here Bryan. The Ikea Bigel rails and baskets are FANTASTIC. Lots of people like to store ribbon on those rod type systems but, I love the Bigel baskets for my ribbon so that I can take out the entire spool and hold it up against my project before I cut it...I can test it first. Not to mention you can store your punches on the rails. I love these!
Funny that you are moving b/c myhusband and I are in the midst of having our home built and I have plans for the craft room that I am going to get. One wall is going to be installed cabinets and a countertop! Another wall will be the Ikea system and then another will have those small pantry cabinets from Target (on sale this week for $50). I like to buy the photo storage boxes and put different things in them while leaving the lids underneath the box so that you can see everything.
Since I don't currently have a real craft room, I use Itso cabinets from Target, to store my paper stacks because the 12x12 fit perfectly inside. Oh, and I also love the rolling plastic carts, those are good for ink, stamps, flock, etc. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

  32. Look at all of that treasure!!! Loveit! I don't have any mind blowing tips, but what works for me is to have things in stations, such as all my diecutting systems and accessories in a specific area, my messy area for spritzing and painting, and so forth. Oh, and pick up of a copy of Creating Keepsakes' special edition of Scrapbook Rooms that came out last month! There are so many awesome ideas jam-packed into that magazine! Good luck! Please show us the new room when you get settled!

  33. First, take a little trip to the local organizational store to get some groovy ideas...then get shelves, then cubes, cubes and more cubes. Cubes let you be as organized as you want - OR NOT! And if you don't want to be organized, they let you LOOK organized :) Love ya!! kat.mcnellis@yahoo.com

  34. First purge what you don't use or need. Second, sort according to type. Then, Get some type of hanging folder system for your paper. You may need a couple. Store your extra supplies above in a shelf or in a closet. Only have out what you need to use. Organize your stickers according to type in a file organizer that you can buy at the dollar store for $3. I have 2 for mine. I put all of my clear stamps in page protectors and stuck them in the biggest binder Wal-Mart sells. This saved a ton of space, and I can quickly flip through my stamps to see what I want to use. Get a tool box organizer (the one for nuts and bolts) and keep all of your brads and eyelets in this. I am just starting to work on my new room, and I am going with cubes, baskets, and the drawers on wheels. I hope this helps you.

  35. I haven't read the other posts, but I have a couple of suggestions from your pics. A wall unit above your work table to have all the stuff you use very often. I have a custom made stamp holder that has removable shelves on the wall and an Options portable holder on my craft surface that puts my must haves within reach.
for the other side of your room- I like the paper and pull-out drawers, but you also need something you can hide stuff in- maybe a wardrobe or something similar? There's also some really cool organizers out there. I have one that was for offices and it works great for me to organize my stuff. You might need a floor-to ceiling kind of thing though, depending on your new space. Good luck coming up with your new design. I would love to see your new space when you have it finished!

  36. I have a few things I use and love. I use a DVD storage case to hold all my stamps, inks and imagine cartridges. It is the perfect depth so there is not a lot of wasted space like on a regular book shelf. For paper scraps I got an accordian folder and labeled the tabs with colors. It makes scraps managable and I actually use them! I also have all my ribbon sorted by color. I use the divided artbins that are about 1.5" deep and about 7.5 x 11 inches. I use my brother labeler to label...everything. Another idea is to use a photo album for bling most times the packages fit perfectly in the pockets. You can add tabs and label them by color and type.
Good luck on creating a space you will love and that will inspire you!

  37. ok..HERE GOES: I have the craft keeper stackables from JoAnn's these are awesome they come in a stack of 6 these are great because the base in on wheels....the keepers are 12 x 12 so can handle any paper stacks...and these units can be separated and restacked...I have 36 of the keepers so this means I purchased 6 units....some have paper and some have embellishments and I write on them with slick writers so I know what's in each one and then when you change your mind the slick writer can be removed with alcohol and write something different. I have put together bookcases from Lowes that I use the shelves for my 165 Cricut Cartridges...you can double stack them also use these shelves to house all my Xyron machines and stamp albums, and inks...and flower containers etc. you get the picture..I have two bookcases..so I am extremely organized and see everything....so good luck to you with everything.

My father-in-law built me some to fit the 12 X 12 dimensions that I always need, and they work fabulously!!! I also love the little baskets and boxes of sorts that I find at goodwill and target ( the dollar section has some great ones ) to hold my punches in, adhesives, and pens so that they are always visible, easy to get to, and still looks cute! hope this helps!

  42. I would start off with the Jetmax cubes. I use those and the older store and Style ones. I also have two different types of racks for my paper. One is similar to what you see in your LSS and the other holds my paper packs and it spins. Love them both. Organization is a very personal thing, do what works for you and congrats on your move and new scraproom.

  43. Hi! Glad that your life came before scrapping - just a little. It's healthy. SO - I have the Workbox, by the Original Scrapbox Company. Look them up online. I am in LOVE with my Workbox. My before photos look very similar to yours. I got it ALL in my Workbox. I also got a table in the bargain. It is an expensive start up, but I swear it has payed itself off in my house already, by clearing up all of the areas that held my scrapbook, stamping, Cricut, Jewelry making, painting, sewing, etc., supplies before I got it! They also sell different sized crafty organizers. On a different note - you might need an Expedit from Ikea. I think that all of those cubbies are a close (well, not that close) second to the Workbox's drawer cubbies. Sometimes, all it takes is a drawer or a door... and I found that sorting, gifting and donating unused/or old supplies has actually kick-started my mojo! There's nothing like having room to create and knowing exactly where everything you want to create with is located! Good Luck on the move - and my photos were worse than yours. Let me know if you want to see them!

  44. I work in a very small space. I would suggest you can always go UP--shelves and more shelves. I have a repurposed armoire that I put wire cubes in that hold all my paper, by color, in plastic containers from Michaels. The inside of the doors have wire racks to hold my punches. The lower drawers have all the emblishments in jewelry plastic containers. And the best thing I own is my P-touch label maker so I don't have to dig, it's all nicely marked. Good luck--the more organized my space is the calmer I am and the more creative I become.

  45. Wow! You have A LOT of stuff! Congrats on the new craft space...I share a room with my hubby (his office, my craft space), so my stuff always has to be neat (he's a former Marine with organizational issues). He purchased a great desk for me, the legs of the desk are actually cubbies! We found this great table at Cost Plus Imports for only $100. The cubbies actually faced outward, but I had him turn the legs around so that they faced inward, making it easier for me to get to my items. There is so much room to store things such as my cuttle bug, baskets of stickers, embellishments and my small paper pads. I actually stay VERY organized since everything is at an arms' reach. I also purchased a rolling cart with drawers where my expression sits. This works out great because I am able to house light tools such as adhesives, stamps, inks, pens, cuttlebug folders, etc. in the drawers and move it around to wherever there in an outlet available. I do have a shelving system where my printer, and paper stacks live. I have cropper hopper organizers and everything is stored by themes. Since I have a gypsy, all of my carts are loaded into it and I've stored the boxes and cartridges away so they don't take up prime real estate ;-) I keep the handbooks in a basket in one of my cubbies under my desk. Good luck with your new space and have fun organizing...if you feel you need to purge anything, feel free to send it my way!

  47. I don't have THAT many things but I divide my cardstock between patterned and solid and each one in pastels and brights. For embellishments I have small organizers and I have a few of them and the embellishments I use less I put them in a other organizer box. For ribbon towels racks, for tools like punches, sew easy, i top or whatever a shoe storage works. But you need some extreme organizing, consider a peg board and I noticed that you have your cricut carts there. I would consider getting a gypsy if you don't have one, and putting them away and if you have an i phone in the i books app you can put your cricut carts handbooks. Just go to cricut.com go to the cart you want and hit handbook when it opens is going to say open in i books if it dissapears just click on the screen again. then it saves it on your i books app. Is amazing!! Categorize things like stamps, inks and other things by color or size. I hope I helped if not come get me I would love to play in a room like that!!

  48. My favorite piece of "scrap room" furniture is a 6' wide dresser with mirror - it has 4 rows of three drawers each, and the cricut, laptop, cuttlebug, and trimmer all fit on top. The mirror makes the room look bigger (and all 40 cricut cartridges sit above the mirror quite happily with room for more). I have a 6' table out in the middle of the room - and 4 of those rolling plastic drawer cabinets can fit under the "corners" with room for my legs underneath and a friend can scrap across from me. I agree that shelving and/or cubes are a great idea. I have tried the Iris boxes, but they are too flimsy for traveling with them. The mid height artbin 12x12 boxes are much sturdier, stay locked shut when traveling, and are great for keeping like stuff together for taking with you, then slip back into the artbin cubes when you get home. Have fun!

  49. Hi Brian

I have three tall bookcases that I purchased at IKEA. They hold right now my:
    1. Cricut cartridges -- I have over 160 (I have to stop buying) the best way that I have found so that I can pull them out easily and save space is to have all the A's in one stack laying down long ways. B's in another stack....etc. I have some stacks the rows 2 deep. If I need Storybook....I just go to the Ss and there it is. I have all of my cartridges linked to my Gypsy so it is not very often that I have to pull out the cartridge box.
    2. I use some shelves for holding my pads of designer cardstock. They stand up like I see in your picture.
    3. Two shelves hold white photo boxes (some people call them shoe boxes - I purchased at Hobby Lobby) They hold my punches. I have punched a sample out of teal cardstock (I just like teal) and glued it on to the front of the box. I can see from my desk which box the punch is that I want.
    4. Cuttlebug folders are in plastic photo boxes that I purchased at Office Depot.

I have on the wall hanging shelf that holds Prima flowers, glitter, ribbon.....
I have four paper shelving units that hook together to hold my solid color cardstock.

On my desk I have two CD storage racks that I have standing up right to hold my ProMarkers. Each ProMarker has on the big end a white sticker dot that I have colored with the color of the pen plus the number of the row in the rack. The ProMarkers are sitting on a CD case that has a strip of paper with the color sample and name of the pen. This makes it very easy to find them and easy to put away.

On my work table I have two circle storage containers that hold crafting supplies.

Hope this might give you some help. I feel that my craft room is organized . .... Oh yes, I purchased two accordion file folder containers for my scraps. On the lower left corner of the container I have what colors are in there. ex dk blue-textured, dk blue-smooth, dk blue-glittered..... My scraps of patterned paper I keep in a plastic ben.

    Happy Organizing.

  50. I'm so happy for you! A room JUST for crafting! I'm jealous! My hubby has been "finishing" the basement for over a year now and I still don't have my own room...ugh.

Anyway, right now I have Jetmax cubes. Twelve to be exact. I have paper storage: horizontal for individual pieces and vertical for paper packs. The four drawer cube has perfect drawer sizes for embossing folders. They even have vertical hanging file cubes!

Good luck in your move. I wish you the best!

  51. Hi B ryan! I noticed from ur video of the" haul" today that u like rubons and chipboard elements..this is how i store these to keep track of what i have...a rubons album...i used heavy cardboard to make a front and back cover..punched holes at top and bottom for 3" rings and used 6x12 page protectors to hold all my rubons..i also have another for CTMH Stickease and random alpha stickers. Its great to just flip pages to find the" right" rubon and once u cut a few out the pieces are still contained! Chipboard elements i store in several Iris 4x6 photo containers labeled w the topic or company on the outside..they stand or stack nicely and u can find each sets easily. The larger ones and my grungeboard elements are stored in an accordion file from walmart..w labeled sections..oh course..lol
hope this helps..love to see the new scrapspace..i just know you'll post it! Hugz!!

  52. I love using my Jett Maxx cubes to store my scrpabooking and stamping supplies. I also use baskets to hold little odds and ends. I have a bookcase where I store most of my 12x12 stacks. Hope this helps you!

  53. If you're anywhere near IKEA ...the bygel rails, wire baskets are the best for punches and ribbons and inexpensive ... youtube is your next best friend for ideas.

  54. One thing that I did to organize, especially my Cricut cartridges was to buy some Snapware. I purchased on ebay a special for Cricut cartridges for like $40 and it holds 40 cartridges. I then arranged my books, cartridges and mats alphabetically and whala! ORGANIZED. I also have taken my largest rolling cart for my most used paper and used plastic totes for specific holidays and put all of it labeled. That way you can kinda pack it away until you start working on specific holidays. Smaller plastic boxes (shoe boxes) are also great for stickers and embellishments. I also bought a Snapware which you can stack as many as you want is real handy for ribbon. For my stamps I have a VERY large plastic which holds almost all of them. You could do the snapware and have a box for each holiday. All of this of course, will cost you but it is so rewarding TO BE ORGANIZED. You are lucky to have an extra room ~ I keep telling my husband "you have a whole garage for your STUFF!"
    Hope this helps

  55. wowza! ok, it great (and brave) of you to seek out help. You neet jetmax cubes like the ones at michaels. this way you can "hide" everything and use the tops as a display table or for the bigger stuff like your cricut. Also, a cabinate with shelves and doors, again to "hide" stuff. Baskets in the expedit shelves look nice as well....happy organizing!

  56. Congrats on getting a new craft room. One thing I do that really saves me time and space is to sort my embellishments by color not type. I use the Iris Scrapbook storage. So for example all the blue beads, buttons, brads, glitter, embossing and flocking power is in one container. All the black and white is together. Etc. It's great they are see though but have lids. I just pull out the color I think my layout or card needs and find an embellishment that works. For me half the fun of scrapbooking is the organizing so happy organizing.

  57. Congrats on the move! I will say that I have no "real" crafting space--as I don't crop at home, but at my LSS--I have a cat that is NOT as helpful as he thinks he is!! That being said--most of my supplies are portable. I LOVE the Artbin Super Satchels. I have TONS of them. They are quite sturdy, and have strong handles. They also come in several different colors, lending to easy organization--red or green for Christmas, orange for Thanksgiving or Halloween...you get the idea. Or--store colored paper in the corresponding colored satchel. They are great for storing works in progress, and stack very well. There is also a storage cube specially designed for them, so pulling only the desired case is quite easy. The satchels and a label gun have helped me be quite organized, and can clean up a workspace in short order, all while keeping the necessary supplies together.

  58. Congrats on the new place. I wish I had an extra room for guest or crafting. Organization will be important to prevent "this" from happening again. You need LOTS of storage conatiners that can stack then label each one.

    Good Luck!

  60. Welll, I would have to say labeling is the best advice. looks like you have the cubies. My boss calls me an organized hoarder!! I labeled the cabinets and drawers and on the shelves in front put the item that was in the back, but couldn't be seen. This way it may be out of sight, but never forgotten. Good luck with your new space.
