A layout for MOM!

Hello everyone--it's been a hot minute since I was able to share.  My job has kept me going to and frow here and there and just about everywhere.  Logged 25K miles in the are this past month!
Well today I have a layout built for MOM!  In honor of Mother's Day I did this since I was not able to be with my mom this weekend--before you judge (LOL) I was with her last weekend and she is coming to Dallas at the end of the month for the Great American Scrapbook Convention so we will get to spend time twice in one month!
Ok on to the layout:
This single page 12x12 layout was a lot of fun to make. I used kraft paper as the base and lots of fun bright colors .

I used my Cricut to cut out the letters to spell mom--sent them upside down through the xyron and added prism glitter for a little bling. I think technique and heat embossing are my two fav things to do.

My photo mat is off centered so you can see the fun ditsy floral pattern.  I also cuttlebugged the solid pink to just add texture.

I used a few different double sided pattern papers and solid colors and just layered them up at the top and bottom of the page to frame it out.  I used a few border punches to add a bit of BAMM here and there.

Here is the bottom of the layout.  I added some chambray pleated ribbon from Maya Road--I love this stuff.  Here is a better pic of the ribbon.

I also bought it in red and would love to find it in yellow!

OK--since I have been gone for so long I want to say thanks to all my loyal followers.  Everyday this week I will be giving away a Close to My Heart D size stamp set.  all winners will be announced on Saturday.  Every day will have its own winner and you have till Friday at Midnight to enter by commenting on every days post!  Pretty easy right!
I am so glad to be home for a bit and back with you all--

Butterflies.........

It's Monday and I hope you all had a special holiday weekend.  I was lucky enough to get a bit of crafting--it's about time right!
Well the title is not because I nervous but rather the exact opposite.  A dear friend of mine recently celebrated here one year anniversary of breast cancer and I wanted to make something for her as she is one of my biggest fans when it comes to my cards--think I make all of her cards now.
She LOVES butterflies so when I got this from SEI it was like fate had stepped in!
It's a butterfly mobile.  The only place I had to hang it to work on it was my light fixture.  There is about 150 butterflies in total and took a good bit of time to make--I am much better when it is paper glue and sparkles than I am in these 3D art projects.

So I am going to try and hang it before she gets to the office on Monday!
I do have some layouts and cards to share as well.  We are back on track with normal posts (even through my work travel is still crazy--I have worked ahead!)
Make sure to leave those comments for your max number of chances to win this weeks CTMH blog candy stamp set.

What's up Peeps!

Hey my peeps--what's going on.  I am so sorry my job had taken over ever minute of my life the last few weeks but I was needing a crafting fix so I made a card this evening when I got home well after the Voice was on and over (a bit bitter about this).
So this fun Easter card is actually a thank you card--I know I know--long story I will get to shortly.
I did a four mat stack with the turq solid embossed with the cuttlebug and the top white is where I stamped. The middle bunny I added glitter using my xyron technique I always talk about.
Here is a close up of the layers--I love taking two colors and using them to really pop--simple but packs a punch.
So here is the stamped images--all from CTMH and the same stamp set.  I did a little three 3D here in a new sort of way.  No pop dots!  I know crazy--but I did use one of my must haves from the new CTMH catalogue called Adhesive Springs (Z1725)
So here is a side view--the springs are about a 3/4" long and 3/4" round--I have so many ideas for these--I think I have purchased like 50 sets--hoarder much!
I added a few scraps to the inside to pull it all together.  Before I forget let me tell you about the envelope.
I simply love this egg stamp and had to use it so I added it to the envelope--yet one more way to tie it all  together.
Products used:
Daisy White Card Stock from CTMH
Lagoon Card stock and ink from CTMH
My Peeps Stamp Set (B1402 $9.95) from CTMH
Adhesive Springs (Z1725  $2.95 set of 6) from CTMH
Pattern Paper from Lilybee Designs Buttercup collection (love love love this collection)

OK on to the long story.  Well the other day a co-worker gave my staff chocolate bunnies (an who does not love a chocolate bunny) well there was not one on my desk so I jokingly was like why did I not get one.  The next day I got a big bunny on my desk--I thought it was funny but did not know who had done it.  Well I had a business trip to Little Rock and Friday morning I got a text with the below-
My response to the image was "somebunny's got jokes!!!"  I laughed about this for a good 20 minutes!

Alright enough for today--there is more to come this week and after the holiday we should be back on track!
Make it a great one-
