Friday Funday.........

Can you believe it! It's July 16th--where does the time go?  Summer is almost half over and even though it has been hot as heck here in Texas--I am starting to really look forward to fall.  Most places it starts in September but here we are luck to get fall before Halloween.  Anyway, I was looking at my calendar yesterday and my list of "to do" paper projects and I better get busy---LOL!
Last week I asked what 3 things could you not craft with out.  I got a good laugh at how hard it was to keep it to three--trust me I feel the pain when you have to pick--since I love every item in my craft room.  That includes the mountains of rub-ons, chipboard letters, ribbon, rolls of ATG tape and my seemingly never ending supply of foam squares.
This week we say 5 new cartridges and 3 new cake cartridges, a partnership between Provo Craft and Martha Stewart, and if you are a fan of Paper Trey Ink--an AMAZING release this month.  How to afford it all!  So my Friday Funday question to you all is:
Which, if any, of the new Cartridges do you want?  Are you going to buy now or wait?

MY ANSWER IS:
I think they are cute, but cute is really not my thing--the Happy Haunting is for sure on my list which I will get sooner than later, but I also think the Martha Cake Cartridges are really amazing--supper clean truly Martha!  These I will wait for! I have to tape the HSN presentation next week so I don't just call in and get them now.  I have to remind myself that I am on a BUDGET!

Next week I have a great exploding box to share with at least one video and a couple of other project that I will be sharing!  Have a great weekend and we will see you back here on Monday morning!
Make it a great one-

  1. So funny that you ask...here I was patting myself on the back that out of the 5 PC releases I wanted one, Winter Frolic, then I find out that MS & PC are doing 3 new cake cartridges (obviously I was a bit behind in the info gathering) so now I HAVE to add 2 more to my list!!! All of which I want now but will have to wait on (I hope!!!) Oh my budget!!!!!!

  2. Out of all the new carts, I want the Martha Stewart cake carts but will wait on those as well since they are probably going to be exclusive to HSN and their prices really do not come down, because I really wanted a border type cart. I also liked the Simply Charmed. I am going to wait on them all because there are still a few of the other ones that I want to get and will wait for these to drop in price as well. Have a good weekend.

  3. Can't pick just one. I love Happy Hauntings, Simply Charmed and Winter Frolic. I'm sure I'll end up with all threee at some point. And as a side note, I see baseball and basketball are retiring. If you haven't bought those and have young kids, I'd say run to the store. I use mine all the time for cards and layouts for both my kids! As a matter of fact, I made three sets of thank you cards for this years baseball and softball coaches - that was 12 cards total!

  4. Happy Hauntings, definitely and Handy Man from the lite carts. Those I will get very soon!!!
Keep up the great paper crafting!!!!

  5. Winter Frolic is at the top of my wish list and the Martha Stewart carts look great, I really like the borders that look like her punches. I haven't gotten any new carts in a while because of budget, budget, budget! That and I am saving for the CHA Supershow :o)

  6. IMO, Provocraft made it easier for me to not buy cartridges for a while. There is absolutely no way I could ever buy all the new cartridges and they came and keep coming in an avalanche!! So my head is spinning and I can't decide if I truly want any of them. Can't wait to see the exploding box!

  7. My all time fav (I think EVER) is the Winter Frolic cart so it is at the top of my wish list now. I will wait for a bit to get it though because I have new Winter/Christmas cartridges from last year that I haven't used yet so can't justify the $$ at the moment.

  8. If any, the Winter Frolic would be the one on my list. I just wasn't overwhelmed by this new release--THANK GOODNESS!!! The checkbook needs a break!

  9. If I had to pick just one it would be the Happy Haunting!! I, like you, are also on a budget so I will patiently wait ;-)

  10. I know I will get Simply Charmed. Not sure how long it will take me. Then Winter Frolic. I know at some point the other 3 will end up on my shelf. My budget is wearing thin also. Have an awesome weekend!! :)

  11. I'm loving them all but especially the MS cake carts. I'm making my wish for the cake machine and these carts for Christmas. Maybe Santa will think I've been good this year.

  12. I think Happy Haunting it the best out of the new release, but I also like country life and winter frolic is growing on me.

  13. I'm not sure?! i have to look at them more! maybe my sister will run out and buy them and then i can use them before i buy! I usually play around with the new carts in DS before makin a decision, that way i can see exactly everything on the cart and what features it has before buying!

  14. Well, this surprises even me, because I don't celebrate Halloween, but I really like the Happy Haunting cart! Especially the witch hat and the witch boot. But I will wait for the price to come down, especially since I just bought Bloom and ordered Picturesque from Cricut.com. The price wasn't bad at $59.99, but $13.66 shipping to ship one cartridge to California??? Outrageous!!

  15. I guess I'm a fan of the full cartridges and not the lite versions. The detail just isn't there. I like the images on the solution cartridges too especially October 31st and the Pumpkins. Like you I can't wait for MS' cartridges. Looks like some great borders and seasonal images that can use used for cards and scrapbook layouts.

  16. Why don't they stop for awhile! Everyone is trying to be good and stay within their budget. But.........if I have to pick just 1, it would be one of MS cake as I like the border and would use them. When you stop to think even on sale a single punch will run $15-18 the cartridge has a lot more than one cut. Just trying to be rational about the whole thing! I will probably wait a while at least until after vacation. Looking forward to your posts next week and the stairstep card you promised.

  17. I am trying real hard to restrain myself but have a trip planned with my enabling sisters next week. The one cart I want above all others is the Elegant Cake Art from Martha. It has so many of the her punch designs that I have been wanting to buy. I plan to be strong....that is my position tonight anyway. ; ) Looking forward to the explosion card!

  18. I really like Simply Charmed out of the new carts, buuutt, I'm not going to buy any right now. I have carts I haven't even had a chance to play with yet, so can't see buying any more.

  19. Hi Bryan, I told my hubby just today about the new cartridges that were being released and that I liked Country Life. I told him that I will WAIT until it drops below $35 and then at Ohmycrafts.com I will be able to get it at 20% off. So now I just have the waiting game. I also like Martha's Simple Elegant cartridge. I will never pay the full price. Just have to wait for the price to come down on that one also. Temp on our patio this afternoon was 106.5. OUCH that is HOT! Glad that we have a good working A/C.

  22. Funny I would love to have the Halloween cart, but before I ask for anything else I would love to have the cutterbug. Before I get anything I need to find a job to pay for my hobby

    Thanks,

  23. Bryan,

I'll be watching to see if you cave on the Martha Stewart Cake Cartridges or not! ;)

I agree...too many have come out this summer and because I'm so indecisive anyway (and LOVE collecting & would buy them ALL if money were no object), I haven't bought a single one! I'm still waiting for Create a Critter to come down in price on ebay. Could be a while! And I'm sure I've already said, but I have been avoiding Walmart like the plague (which is hard to do, because I sometimes get groceries there)! But I just know, once I buy my first one, I may go on a rampage...too addictive!

I missed so much during my move & stressful time away, but I'm enjoying catching up! :)

Thanks so much for sharing...always look forward to your creative & interesting posts,

    Jennifer
